Let’s face it ladies. Curves are in! Long-gone are the days of the skinny waif and all the latest styles are made for women with small waist and a larger derriere. Even on the runway, we see women sporting a little more weight than they used to, and I for one, am all about it!  Obviously, having a small waist isn’t super easy and it will take some work on your part. But investing in yourself and in your health is important and worth the effort. Plus, we’re here to help you out! We will share the top 5 tips for getting that tiny waist you crave.

Modify Your Diet

I hate to tell you this, but your body is 90% what you eat and 10% how you exercise. You can’t out run those cookies and brownies! If you want a small waist, you need to lose belly fat, you need to eat the appropriate foods and avoid processed sugars, simple carbs and foods that cause you to bloat. Eat a lot of healthy proteins, veggies and fruits (remember, fruits do have sugar, so consume them in moderation), complex carbs for energy (especially before a workout) and good fats (I’m talking avocadoes and nuts here, not french fries and tons of cheese). Also, remember to drink a lot of water and cut out the alcohol, sodas, and juices.

Do The Right Exercises to Get a Small Waist

Small WaistEveryone thinks that they can crunch their way into a tiny waist. Not true! In fact, crunches may be doing you more harm than good. When you do crunches, you are building your ab muscles in such a way that they will bulge out and make your waist thicker (this is especially true after you have had a baby). Plus, if you have a lot of belly fat, you will never see those abs underneath. So, it’s important to get your cardio in, especially if you have a lot of fat to cut from your belly. Then, think in terms of exercises that will strengthen and tighten your core. Things like planks, push-ups, squats, and Pilates will be the best thing for creating a defined and small waist.

Don’t Forget to Exercise Your Butt, Hips and Thighs

In order to emphasize a small waist, you need some curves! So, it’s really important to strengthen your legs, glutes, hips and thighs. Don’t be afraid to do some heavy weight lifting exercises in order to develop some muscle and serious curves. No, lifting weights will not make you look manly! In fact, it will help you develop the body you always dreamed of. Think squats, lunges, side lunges, and lateral lifts. You can start off light, but add weigh as you progress. These exercises are not only great for your bottom half, but they also require you to work your core, making them great exercises to help you achieve as small waist.

Use a Waist Trainer

Waist training is all the rage and with good reason. It can help you get that tiny waist you have always dreamed of! You can use cinchers while you work out in order to help you sweat more and really target those ab muscles. They help you get rid of water weight, they help give you better posture, and they help you burn more calories. You can also use a waist training corset while you’re not working out in order to help you achieve some really dramatic results. Corsets work by gradually pushing in your floating ribs, thus giving you a smaller waist. It’s important to remember, however, that waist training is a semi-permanent solution, so you have to commit to being consistent with the training or your body will just go back to what it was before very quickly.

Target Cellulite and Belly Fat with a Slimming Gel

It seems that sometimes, although you are working out and eating right, cellulite can still plague you. Remember, being curvaceous does not mean you have to sport cellulite and indentations in your skin. Use a slimming gel to target your belly and thighs and help massage away those pockets of fat. The massaging action helps break up the fat and it will make your exercise routine that much more effective. Cellulite can affect us all, but thankfully, there are great products out there that can help us with this issue.

It takes a lot of effort, but it’s not impossible to achieve that coveted hour glass figure. With the right exercises, diet and great tools available to you, having a small waist is not reserved only for celebrities and physically blessed people. Looking good and having a curvaceous figure is something that we can all achieve. So, get to work ladies!
